Driving down Plains Road gives a unique view of Midtown Burlington’s newest development. A new complex that promotes a culture-shift in Burlington nears the final stages of construction for Phase-1; a 20-storey condo tower.
Provincial legislation, like the Greenbelt, promotes denser development in urban-areas by limiting ‘greenfield’ land available for new builds. Burlington has reached the city’s urban limits, seeking to accommodate new residents through mid and high-rise developments around the Lakeshore West GO Stations and Downtown. Each mobility hub will be able to accommodate more residents, jobs, and retail through denser development near transportation routes.
Paradigm Condos builds on these guidelines through dense development near Burlington GO. The project features five new buildings, ranging from 18-24-storeys, housing 929-condo units.
As the exterior finishes for the West Tower are completed, it is apparent that this development will be a departure for the established neighbourhood. Modern glass finishes and interesting geometric design contrasts the suburban low-rise buildings nearby giving the project a distinct style. The project represents a step forward in urban-design in Burlington bringing architectural diversity to the Plains-Fairview corridor.
Buildings are defined by the community around them.
